Subject Description

Human Resource Development (HRD) introduces you to key HRD processes and explores how learning occurs in the workplace. You will examine the role of HRD professionals in workforce development, building organisational capability and supporting employability, while considering diverse stakeholder perspectives.

You will be introduced to critical perspectives on HRD which support examination of the ethical and social justice implications of professional practice. You will also engage with Indigenous perspectives on HRD and consider how respectful engagement with Indigenous knowledges can strengthen workplaces. Through applied learning using real-world case material and industry examples, you will develop skills in planning, designing and evaluating HRD initiatives.
